Who publishes Ghosting.tv
Ghosting.tv is an independent site, published by new stewards of the domain. We are not the founders of the original Ghosting.tv, the screening series that ran in Los Angeles from 2013 to about 2018. We have no connection to them, none to any artist named in Origins, and we do not speak for any of them. The series went dark, the address lapsed, and we took it up for something new.
What the site covers
Ghosts on screen, in four sections. Films & Shows is about ghost films and series and the true cases behind them. On Camera examines footage and photographs that claim to show a ghost, frame by frame, including video that no camera recorded. Hauntings goes to the cases and the houses, and to the practice of looking for ghosts. Origins keeps the record of the series that carried this name before us.
How we treat evidence
Every claim on the site is one of two kinds, and the text says which: what the record shows, or what the story says. A police report, a dated photograph and a timestamp on a tape belong to the record. What a family said, what a witness remembered and what the legend has it belong to the story, and we report them that way, attributed.
We neither assert that a ghost was real nor mock anyone who saw one. A named person on this site is a real person: we do not invent their words, their feelings or their motives, and victims of real crimes are named only as the public record names them. When we get something wrong, we want to know. A correction we can source goes in.
How the Origins pages were built
From the public record and nothing else. The history of the series and the roster of past artists are drawn from snapshots of the original site in the Wayback Machine: the main page with its mission and showcase listings, the info page naming the founders, and the past-artists page. Each page links to the snapshots it uses, so the source is one click away.
We added nothing that was not in them. Press coverage, attendance figures beyond the founders’ own, and ties to venues or institutions that we could not verify are left out. Where the record is silent, the pages say so rather than fill the gap.
What the site does not claim
Everything here is general information, published in good faith and without warranty. It may be incomplete or out of date, and it is not professional advice. The terms of use set out in full what that means.
Independence and paid links
The site carries no affiliate or paid links at the moment. If that changes, any article carrying links that earn money will show a disclosure above the text, so you can see it before you read.
